Visakhapatnam, December 5, 2005

As a part of the Corporate Social Responsibility, activities, the Personnel Welfare Department of Visakhapatnam Steel Plant organized a multi purpose social service camp at the Community at the Community Welfare Centre at Gangavaram.

The programme was intended to sensitize villagers on the general health, food and nutrition, health of the girl child and women, clean and green environment, ill effects of alcoholism and addiction. Special counselling was organized for youth on education, career planning and self-employment. A Street play on AIDS awareness was staged.

Speaking at the valedictory, Director (Personnel) of the Plant KA Naidu who was the chief guest stressed the need for Corporate Social Responsibility activities to benefit society. Executive Director (Personnel and Industrial relations) AK Banerjee said that the Visakhapatnam Steel Plant management had plans to organize more such programmes in other rehabilitation centres.
