Indian Naval Ship Circars, the flagship of Eastern Naval Command celebrated its 66th anniversary at Naval Base on Monday.
Commanding Officer of INS Circars Commodore SPR Reddy inspected the ships company at divisions and reviewed the parade. Addressing the officers and sailors on parade, he said that Circars established on December 12, 1939 by the British to use Visakhapatnam for its military operations has now become a major shore establishment under the ENC.
He said that it was the base support establishment for ENC and had numerous responsibilities on its shoulders. INS Circars being the shore support establishment provide administrative and logistic support to the other units under ENC.
