Visakhapatnam, December 29, 2005

Thousands of people bid a tearful farewell to the great Congress leader Dronamraju Satyanarayana, Visakhapatnam MLA who was cremated with State honors at his native village of China Mushidivada on the outskirts of the city on Thursday. Earlier the body of the departed leader, who died at a private hospital in Hyderabad late Wednesday night was flown to Visakhapatnam by an Indian Airlines afternoon flight.

Revenue Minister, Dharmana Prasadarao, Marketing Minister Botsa Satyanarayana Visakhapatnam MP N Janardhana Reddy and TTD Chairman and Rajya Sabha Member T.Subbirami Reddy brought the body in the aircraft. The mortal remains of Satyanarayana were taken in a huge procession from the airport in a van to his residence from where it was shifted to the cremation ground nearby. Commissioner of Police VSK Kaumudi and Visakhapatnam District Collector, Praveen Prakash were present. Almost all the leaders of the party were present at the funeral ceremony.
