Senior Politician Dronamraju Satyanarayana celebrates his birthday
On the eve of the birthday celebrations of the veteran leader Dronamraju Satyanarayana said that the dream of Polavaram multi purpose project becoming a reality is one of the happiest moments in his 50 years of political career. It was in 1946, after Tenneti Viswanadham spoke for a long time in the then Assembly, Ramaprasadsagr, the present Polavaram project took shape. Then Chief Minister T.Anjaiah laid the foundation stone in 1980 which was lying like Ahalya till YS Rajasekhara Reddy set his foot on it bring life to the project. He said the same at a function organized to celebrate his 73rd birthday.
The function marked the absence of the party MLAs, except for S.Rangaraju who presided over the meeting. The MLAs, as also Minister from neighboring Visakhapatnam district reportedly skipped the celebrations as Commercial Taxes Minister K.Ramakrishna was not invited to the meeting. However, turnout of party supporters and city party leaders was impressive as the venue, Gurazada Kalakshetram was packed with Congress workers. Dronamraju Satyanarayana was felicitated by organizing committee. Several leaders and party workers garlanded him.
