Employees of BHPV cheer up with news of possible merger with BHELEmployees of Bharat Heavy Plates and Vessels (BHPV) whose morale was at a low ebb for the past several years are excited over the State Government's suggestion merge it with Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL). With several options including privatization under consideration of the Centre, the latest suggestion has pepped up the spirit of the workforce of BHPV – a subsidiary of Allahabad based Central Public sector undertaking BYNL. The merger move has come at a time when senior executives of Hindustan Machine Tools.
The revival plan prepared by Billimoria and Company has been submitted to the Board for Reconstruction of Public Sector Enterprises after it was placed before the BHPV board. Though the merger idea has raised a lot of hopes among the beleaguered employees, Mr.Santosh Mohan Dev, Union Minister for Heavy Industries did not comment on it while giving a written reply to a question.
