Gearing up for the four day Visakha Utsav, Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation will run 223 special service and offer seven package tours during the festival beginning from December 25.The Special Buses deployed for the Utsav includes 20 free services and 15 services that will be pressed into service from 5pm on the high corridors. The RTC ill run the buses till the utsav performances are over toenable the passengers to reach their destination.
APSRTC Regional Manager D Satyanarayana and M Trinadh Babu who has taken over as Divisonal Manager (urban) told reporters on Tuesday that the special buses would ply from old Gajuwaka, Arilova, Ravindranagar, Pothinammallayyapalem, Madavadhara, Old Head Post Office, Simhachalam, HB Colony, Tagarapualasa, Devarapalli, Bhimili, Pendurty. The 'Travel As You Like' tickets of the RTC would be made available at the counters. Heritage tours covers Simhachalm, Thotlakonda, Bhimili, Erramattdibbalu, Rushikonda Beach, Visakha Museaum, Submarine Museaum and Lepakshi Emporium. Sunrise tours includes boatride, the two museums, Dutch Cementery, and Industrial tour mainly aims at school children, covering the Railway locoshed, Navy/Port, Yarada, Steel Plant, Shipyard and Ramakrishna Beach. Gopuram offers a visit to prominent temples in and around the city and the Utsav tours covers, Devipuram, Bojjanakona, Nookalamma temple at Anakapalle etc. APSRTC hopes to make nearly Rs.30 lakhs during the four days from the five depots.
