The Andhra Pradesh State Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission is considering a proposal to utilize the services of retired police officers for executing arrest warrants. Stating this on Sunday, the Commission president Justice IV Narayana told reporters that they would work out the modalities on payment of service charges to retired policemen if they were engaged by consumer courts.
The forum was declared open by High Court Judge Justice J.Chelameswar. He welcomed the formation of Retired Police Officers’ Association in the city under the leadership of a retired Circle Inspector Ramulu and said that they would explore the option of reengaging such organizations.
