'Prashanti', a cancer hospital is being promoted by the Rotary Club Waltair and Rotary Waltair Service trust. Announcing this at a press conference on Friday, the trust chairman M.Ramgopal said that it was a permanent project and the first of its kind in the State where care is provided for the terminally ill patients declared incurable by hospitals.
BSNL is conducting customer meetings on Monday at various places in the district. The meetings would be held from 10am to noon at the office of the General Manager, Vizag Telecom district at Dwarakanagar in the city and the offices of Divisional Engineers at Anakapalle and Chodavaram.
Mr.B.Narasimha Murty of Dr.V.S.Krishna college of History Department was awarded Doctorate by Andhra University for his research. The Doctorate was awarded for his research on the thesis the participation of East Godavari people in Nationalism during the period 1920-1947.He is also NSS programme officer and Secretary of Junior Lecturers in the District.
The eminent painter Mr. Mohan while speaking in a press conference at VJ Press Club on Friday said Monarch Art Gallery will be inaugurated on 24th by Municipal Corporation Mayor Rajana Ramani. He said, training will be given to the students in the fields of painting, Banners, Fabric painting, Glass painting etc., for free of charge.
