A 'Rath Yatra' of the Joint Action Committee for Protection of Andhra University was flagged off by the Praja Party national president Giri Yadav on Sunday. The yatra was taken up seeking the ouster of the Andhra University Vice-Chancellor, Y.C.Simhadri. A pamphlet criticizing his style of functioning was also released on the occasion.
The Visakhapatnam Port Trust Employees' Cooperative Society which was registered in 1939 has become the first society in the State to get 'A' class audit classification for the 10th time.
Over 200 patients took part in an eye camp conducted by the Mahavir International at Boddam village. Doctors from the Rotary Netra examined the patients and sent 55 of them for IOL (cataract) operation.
