AICC president makes brief halt in city

The AICC president, Sonia Gandhi had a brief stopover here on Saturday on her way from New Delhi in a chartered aircraft to Raipur for electioneering.Ms.Gandhi resumed her journey in a helicopter. The former Chief Minister N. Janardhana Reddy who is contesting for the Lok Sabha from Visakhapatnam, The Congress candidate for Visakhapatnam I Assembly seat, Dronamraju Satyanarayana and the Mayor Rajana Ramani met Ms.Gandhi at the Airport.

Bankers appeals to vote against TDP-BJP team

The Andhra Pradesh Bank Employees Federation asked the bank employees and their families not to vote for the BJP and the TDP in the elections since they favored privatization of public sector banks. It also decided to release the list of bank loan defaulters contesting the elections within a week.
