Prime Minister Sri P V Narasimha Rao in town

Former Prime Minister Sri P V Narasimha Rao visited Visakhapatnam on a 2-day trip. He arrived in a flight from Hyderabad and went directly to Government Guest House. When the press went to meet him, he discussed on various issues and asked questions to the Press in return. He enquired about the Food for Work program in the district and how much money was spent under the program and who is the current Vice Chancellor for Andhra University. He felt that Professors have to work on research and come out with ideas that could cut costs and development new things that make life easier.

The Regional Co-coordinator of EAMCET 2002, Visakhapatnam said that EAMCET 2002 Hall Tickets will be issued even on holidays including April 5 and April 7 at the Regional Coordinator Office, AU Engineering College Campus, Visakhapatnam between 10 AM to 5 PM
Senior Congress Members including the newly elected Rajya Sabha MP Sri T Subbarami Reddy, APPC Secretary Mr. Sabbam Hari, Mayor Rajana Ramani, Sri Dronamraju Srinuvasa Rao, Sri Y Mariadas and others met him.
Sri Narasimha Rao declared open the Dr. Bezawada Gopala Reddy Vignana Bhawanam in Chinamushiriwada in Pendurthy. The Bhawan was constructed with the financial help of former Rajya Sabha Member Dr Yarlagadda Laxmiprasad's constituency funds.

Telephone Directories to be distributed from Aptil 8, 2002

BSNL announced that those who did not take the new Telephone Directory can take up the same from specially setup 14 counters between April 8 - 12, 2002. Speaking at a press conference, GM Operations - Mr. G Muralidhar said that Visakhapatnam will be getting WLL (Wireless in Local Loop) facility soon.

Minister Sri K Vidyadhar Rao presented the OHSAS - 180001 Certificate to Visakhapatnam Steel Plant. Speaking at the function, Minister said that Visakhapatnam Steel Plant was back on good production tract and felt it will get its rise.
