Sri Paila Mutyala Naidu took charge as the Chairman of the Standing Committee of the Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation. MP Sri MVVS Murthy was present at the program and asked Sri Naidu to look into the problems of the city and work united for solving them.
Senior Congress Leader Sri Rosayya said that Telugu Desam Party was not keen on decreasing the hiked power tarrifs. He said that Jana Chaitanya Yatra initiated by Andhra Pradesh Congress Party will be taken to towns and villages in the state to listen to their voice on the power hike.
The National Federation of Indian Railwaymen asked the Government to consider removing Night Duty Allowance from Income Tax.
Employees of Railway and the Students participated in Good Will Run today to mark the 150 year celebrations of Indian Railways. The Run began at Visakha Museum at RK Beach Road and concluded at SERSA Stadium.
APSRTC said that it has completed computerization of 5 bus depots in the city and that computers will not on be used for generation of City Bus Passes. Special training to this effect was given to its staff members on effective handling of the software package.
MLA Sri K Haribabu asked parents not sent their children to work. He took part in a program to commemorate National Child Labor Day at VUDA Children's Day. He inaugurated the Bala Vikas Center at IVth Ward. He said that Government has set up many Social Welfare Hostels specially keeping in view of the poor student community.

MD of Indo American Software send to remand

The Managing Director of Indo-American Software Solutions Mr. V Pujari was taken into remand for two weeks on charges of cheating students from who Rs. 72,000 was collected and were trained in a certified Internet Professional Course. He offered to pay a stipend of Rs. 5000 each for the first six months and Rs. 7500 later besides project work in a US firm for which he could not withstand.
