Visakhapatnam Port Trust is one of the premier ports in India. With its idea location, it acts as a major hub for shipping activities in the region.

West Quay-6 berth

On January 13, 2016 a six-million tonne multipurpose and general cargo terminal was launched. The commercial operations began with the berthing of a ship from Gujarat carrying steel pipes for use in a water pipeline in Telangana. The berth has been developed at a cost of Rs. 225 crore by West Quay Multiport Pvt. Ltd, a special purpose vehicle floated by ALBA Asia Pvt Ltd, French shipping major Louis Dreyfus Armateurs and Starport Logistics of Mumbai. The berth has 255 metre length and 14.1 metre draft. It is equipped with 2x60 tonne level luffing cranes. The promoters expect to handle three million tonne in the first year of operation.


On 27 December 2015, Visakhapatnam Port Trust conducted a free medical camp at Diguvaralli Veedhi near Mrs. AVN College as part of CSR in coordination with Indian Red Cross Society.
