Highlights of Visakha Utsav on Dec 24, 2000

Special Stage set in model of Borra Caves at RK Beach

Visakha Utsav begins with a flying start. Special Visakha Millenium Utsav trains gets flagged off at the Visakhapatnam Railway Station to Aruku Valley. Special Tour busses also started to various destinations in the city.

Special Fireworks and Balloons gave a nice picturesque display. Minister for Tourism Sri E Peddireddy said that Visakhapatnam is all set to become Singapore of Andhra. He inaugurated the Vana Darshani set up by AP Tourism and the Regional Information Bureau.

The Kalinga Cycle rase was flagged off by MLA of Pendurthy sri. Gana Babu. Ms. P Varalakshmi flagged off the 5 km Walking race while Mr Peddi Reddy inaugurated the Boxing competations.

Meanwhile, Special Photography Exhibition on Visakhapatnam ( Naadu - Nedu ) was inaugurated at VUDA Children's Theater. Photographs depicting Visakhapatnam from 1932 to the recent developments were present at the exhibition.

Srinuvas and troop Ghazals and songs were a special attraction on the first day at R K Beach. From Sai Saranam to the latest melodies including Oka Devata velasindi... (from Neekosam), Aata Kavala.. Pata Kavala (from Annaya), the musical night was attracted huge crowds.

Highlight of the Day at Visakha Utsav's Special Events at R K Beach includes Hilarious jokes by Mr. Silvastar - from the usual mimicries of old Movie stars such as S V Ranga Rao and Nageswara Rao to the latest idols of telugu mimicry such as the voice of our Cheif Minister Sri Chandrananu Naidu.
