Commissioner of Police - Mr. A K Khan He said that special programmes will be held with RTC Drivers, Auto rickshaw drivers and members of the public who frequently drive on roads

He also said that the Visakhapatnam Police will soon have a new logo and that the roads, landmarks and caution symbols will be painted with the help of Municipal Corporation.

He said that Standardisation will be brought about in order to make sure that the message reaches people rather than the companies logos on the hoarings in sponsored banners.

Taking on Law & Order, he said that a new time limit for completion of investigation would be brought to make sure that cases will be solved in a stipulated time. He also said that the Commissionerate will hold talks with the Jurisdication Department to make sure that all the cases of a particular police station will be brought on the same day instead of every day there by minimising the time spent by the Police staff in documenting and processing the case.

Special care will be taken to see that the Station Officers & Inspectors to monitor performance of Beat Conestables.

Speaking on Crime - he highlighted that two types of crimes are more prevalent in the city - Two Whealer Theft and Theft of Locked houses. He said Co-ordination between the Law & Order Department & the Traffic Department will be brought about to see that crime such as theft of two wheelers etc. will be controlled.

He said that Maithri Program designed to strengthen the department has a great way of getting feedback from the public. Monthly meetings will be held regularly to monitor the progress in the city.

The District Training Center which till now was looking into Training higher officials of the department will now on look into training of conestables and lower staff who are actually working on the roads and to keep them informed with the recent changes in the law, physical fitness etc.
