Visakha Prem Sagar starts Hepititis B Vaccine Campaign. The Campaign was inaugurated by Rtd. Prof. Sri Hanumanta Rao.

Indira Gandhi Zoological Park officials claims to have caught as many as 9 snakes from charmers who were using them to make money in view of Nagulachavithi. Green Mercy, a social organisation aganist cruelty of animals claims to have saved 52 snakes and 18 more by VSPCA this week end.

Olympic Medal winner from India, Ms. Karanam Malleswari was felicited by District Sports Association and other Sports associations today.

Fire Accident at Fishermen village in the 4th Ward leaves 30 houses to ashes. Though no one was injured in the accident, many people were left homeless.

MLA Sri. K Haribabu said that the State BJP Committee was working for women welfare. Speaking at BJP Mahila Morcha Programme, he said that BJP will be working on increasing literacy rate among the women community.

State Minister for Forests - Sri. Ayyannapatrudu said that a special review committee will be set up to monitor the state of Zoo's in the state. Speaking at a Press conference in Visakhapatnam, he said that the Investigation Committee looking to the killing of tigress "Sakhi" will submit a report before the Chief Minister as soon as he arrives.

Diwali Celebrations begins in Vizag. Despite hike in prices of Diwali Crackers and other items, people were seen turning towards shops late in the evening and buying their favourite items. Shops at LIC Building Road, Jagadamba Center, Poorna Market were found crowded in the evenings. People were found celebrating with fun and joy.

Vice Chancellor of SV University Sri. Inab inaugurated a Seminar at the Academic Staff College at the Andhra University. The Seminar was jointly conducted by the Dept. of Hindi and ASC.
