Visaka Police Band performs at Ramakrisha Beach. Bands from the Armed Reserve Police, Railway Protection Force, Andhra Pradesh Special Police, CISF participated in the band.

Vice President of India, Mr. Krishna Kanth and his wife Mrs. Suman Krishna Kanth visits Vizag. The Couple were received by Commissioner of Police Mr A. K. Khan, Minister for Forests Mr. Ayyanna Patrudu and incharge Collector.

Dy. Labour Commissioner says that all Motor Transport Operators in the city have to renew their registration with the Labour Department by Oct 31 according to a press release.

Tension raises at the Visakhapatnam Port Stadium when Walkers were stopped to enter into the stadium. Even Mayor of the city Mrs. Rajana Ramani was also stopped by CISF from entering into the stadium. Tension at the stadium has been on rempant with the Port Trust deciding to put an Entry Fee to the stadium.

Hindustan Ship Yard reported Rs. 13 crores last year. This was stated by CMD of HSL at a press conferance at Hotel Green Park. He said that the total turn over of reached the Rs. 107 crore mark and that the Ship Repairs division has been a profit making division for the company. HSL now has orders worth 300-400 crores and that the target for this year was fixed to 225 crores.
