Madhurawada Bus Depot
The APSRTC is constructing a new bus depot at Madhurawada. The bus depot is likely to be ready by April 2013. The APSRTC is planning to build the bus depot in five acres of 7.2 acres allotted to the corporation.
The APSRTC has applied for the permission to the Greater Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation (GVMC), who have sent the plans to Visakhapatnam Urban Development Authority (VUDA) seeking approval for 'change of land use'. However, VUDA has objected the construction without first obtaining permission for 'change of land use'.
The Maddilapalem bus depot will be shifted to the Madhurawada bus depot once the construction is complete. The area at Maddilapalem depot will be used to construct a commercial complex.
